ANZAC Day 2020
Dawn Service - Australian War Memorial
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year the Memorial will hold a private, nationally televised Anzac Day commemorative service. This service will be held in the Commemorative Area and Hall of Memory at 5.30am on Anzac Day. The traditional Dawn Service, National Ceremony and veterans’ march will not take place.
The event will not be open to the public but will be broadcast live across Australia by the ABC and streamed online.
Full details are being finalised. Please refer to the Australian War Memorial website and the Memorial’s social media channels for updates.
Driveway at Dawn
An incredible social movement called Driveway at Dawn along with Soldier On and a group of volunteers called “Aussies and Kiwis for ANZACs” invite you to take part in a virtual dawn service by downloading an app to enable each and every one of us to stand at our driveways from 5.55am on ANZAC day and will feature a virtual candle and synchronised playing of The Last Post at precisely 6am so we can virtually stand side-by-side to show our respect as a nation.
